Update 11/12/14: MAVERICK (ILLINOIS) I am an adorable, happy little 15-pound, 2-year old male silky-terrier mix who was found in a parking lot. I am being foster in Beach Park, Illinois. I have been neutered, microchipped, and am up to date on all vaccinations. I love kids and would make a devoted and very protective addition to your family. I get along well with other dogs except when eating because I don’t like sharing my food. At the present time, I am living with my foster parents and their two little Yorkie mix girls. Lexi likes me, but Laci, the little princess, would like to see me adopted right away because she doesn't like foster mom showing me affection. Or it could be because my foster mom gave the big fluffy doggy bed to me and Laci has to nap in the little fluffy one since I fit better in the bigger one. I love to go for walks and car rides, as long and as often as you would like to take me. I’m trained to do my business outside and I’d love a big fenced in backyard to run around in. My foster mom thinks I have been trained to not get on furniture so I won’t be on your sofa or bed unless you want me there. I would make an excellent addition to your family. Please open your heart and love me furever.

Update 10/28/14: Maverick had his Rabies and Bordetella on 10/27 and is scheduled for his neuter on Tuesday, 11/4/14. He has some hair loss on his hind quarters which might have resulted from a previous flea issue. Maverick seems to have had some discomfort since his vaccinations and loss of appetite. We’ll be checking to see what we can do to help alleviate his discomfort.
Maverick started lifting his leg and is marking in the house. I am using the belly band and this seems to be working very well. His housetraining should improve once he is neutered.
Maverick is a great little dog and loves everyone, men, women, children and other dogs. He is going to make a wonderful addition to some lucky family.
Initial Bio 10/24/14: Maverick is a Yorkie mix who was a stray taken into animal control. He is estimated to be 2 years old and weighs 16 pounds. He was a great sport in the bath and even allowed us to brush and blow dry his hair. He crawled into our laps and gave lots of kisses. Please stay tuned as we get to know this sweet boy better.
