Here's what the humans have to say about me:
Vlad is a 3-4 year old Black Lab mix who craves a job to do for you. Vlad loves to be outside, and would love nothing more than to live primarily outside with a nice weatherproof dog house and be able to patrol your yard or the outside of your business and be your security!
Vlad has thrived in foster care. He loves being outside for 16-20 hours a day sitting and laying next to the fence in just about any weather, alerting anyone who walks by that this is HIS house. That's his job, and he's happiest when he's performing it for you. He comes in for feeding and periods of validation and cuddling sessions. But we've noticed periods where he gets very anxious and needs his "alone" time to feel more secure. When this happens his remedy is to be by himself or he'll put himself in his crate and he'll come out in 2-5 minutes being the happy Vlad we know again. Because of this,he wouldn't be an ideal traditional "family" pet, but would be a good match in a home with no children and no other dogs that is looking for a strong "man-of-the-house" type in dog form.
Vlad loves to play chase, and also loves to play with ropes, balls, and just about anything else to fetch or play tug with. He loves meat-based treats, but he's not a fan of peanut butter or peanut butter based treats.
Do you need a good security dog? Live alone or with just two adults in the house? Don't have a lot of visitors or would allow Vlad the time to warm up to company before making forced introductions? Vlad would be a PERFECT addition to your household!
Vlad is neutered, current on vaccinations, and has been microchipped. His adoption fee is $350.
