My story

Here's what the humans have to say about me:

Here’s our sweetie, Chase! He is named simply because the boy loves to play the game. He one of the most beautiful and unique looking dogs we’ve ever rescued from the shelter. His markings just catch your eye and you can’t turn away. He is going to be the talk of the street once he finds his new family.

Chase is a malamute mix based on his markings. He is currently only 45 pounds, but is underweight and still quite young. The vet estimated that he will be about 60 pounds once he’s an adult. Chase is about 10 months old and is very puppy like, playful, sweet and most of all…entertaining. This young man very much enjoys being outdoors so he can run and play. He has lots of energy to spend and wants an equally energetic family to play and exercise with. If a body of water is available, he’ll most likely want to be in it to splash around.

He adores all people and prefers them over everything else in his life thus far. He gets along beautifully with all other dogs and he would make an excellent dog park visitor! His two best buddies right now in boarding with him are also very playful, so we think he would really enjoy having a doggy companion who likes to wrestle with and spend time with him at home and the park.

Chase’s ideal home consists of a family that will give him lots of love and attention, but will also help him learn the rules and boundaries that a puppy needs to be well mannered. He would be just fine with kids, but because he is big, quick moving and active, very young kids may not be the best playmates for him. He would be a wonderful running or hiking partner for anyone and play partner for the whole family!

He is fully vetted (neutered, microchipped, and has all of his current vaccinations). He is a very recent rescue, so we are still working on house, kennel and leash training. His adoption fee is $250 in Houston.
