My story

Here's what the humans have to say about me:

Cheerio, lads & lassies! Meet Brian, the most chipper little fellow you could ever hope to meet. He’s getting a little up in years, but you would never know it from the twinkle in his eyes and the happiest smile you will ever see! His joints are a little creaky, but nothing will get in the way of him walking up the four stairs to the back deck to join in the fun, even if it means devising a way to walk up at an angle. Like many mature gentlemen, he can be a little touchy about just any old person smooching on him, but once he gets used to seeing your mug around the joint, he will be snuggling and smooching his way into your heart, like the charmer that he is.

He is a bit of a crooner, with a low, mellifluous howl when he’s lonely or stressed in a new situation, but after that he only whips it out when he really, really, really needs to have that delicious treat he knows you have tucked away, you naughty tart!

And although his waistline has expanded over the years—something his new family should be able to help him out with—you can still plainly see what a classically handsome Siberian he is, with his thick, gorgeous gray coat, beautiful white face and contagious grin. And he has the classic Siberian personality to match—fun loving, irrepressible, and brave in the face of adversity. Brian loves to be in the mix of things and can’t pass up an opportunity to socialize, but he also enjoys a crate with a nice comfy bed, where he can feel safe and cozy. He will often retreat to his man-cave for a wee nap on his own volition, and can always be tempted in with a treat. Brian enjoys socializing with other dogs and other humans, but finds cats boring. If you must insist on having cats around the place, he won't hold it against you.

Brian hasn’t divulged his true age, but busybodies guess that he may be eleven or twelve years old. Don’t tell him, but the little balls of canned food he sits for so nicely in the morning contain pills to help with his arthritis. Busybodies also seem to think that Brian needs to lose several pounds, but he is surprisingly spry and in excellent spirits. What Brian really needs a loving family to snog him up and share in the joys and difficulties of his golden years, and he would bring his infectious joy to either a quiet or an active household, so long as there aren’t a lot of little unsupervised bairns winding him up with their roughhousing.
