Riley's Story...
Hello, my name is Riley. I came to the Ark with Guinness when the lady of our house died. I sure do miss my lady. She was always finding stray kitties and taking us in. That is why she had 15. I was born April 2005. My coat is short in length. I am a orange tabby kitty, and I am very sweet and loving. I hope you can help find me a home to live out my lifetime. When you come to the Ark, ask to see Riley. That’s me.

Ark Rescue cats are available for adoption to homes in the Alabama and Tennessee Valley area only.

Ark cats live in a free-roaming environment and typically get along well with other cats.

Why Adoption is a Great Option

Riley, a Huntsville Domestic Shorthair cat was adopted! Here's how you can benefit by looking at adoption as an option to buying a Domestic Shorthair for sale in Huntsville, or seeking a Domestic Shorthair cat from a breeder in Huntsville.

  1. Rescues and shelter volunteers in Huntsville already know the personality and tendencies of their pets. This means they can match you with the right pet. That will makes it much easier transition to owning a pet for yourself and your new pet.
  2. On average adoption fees are much less than you'd pay a Huntsville breeder, or pet store. Plus most often rescue pets have already been to the veterinarian for a check-up, had a round of vaccinations, and are spayed or neutered. That is a lot of savings!
  3. You will become a hero, and give a needy dog or cat a loving home. In fact, there are even Domestic Shorthair breeders who help with Domestic Shorthair rescue. One puppy or kitten adopted in Huntsville paves the way for another one to be saved.
