My story

Here's what the humans have to say about me:

We can't begin to understand how someone could toss this precious 5-6 week old baby onto someone's lawn and just drive away on the evening it was going to be below zero. Gideon had a guardian angel that found him, took him in to warm up and even carried him for a vet check, first vaccines and worming. We took the request to bring baby Gideon into our rescue program and have fallen head over heels with him. Gideon is a Mastiff and we list him as a mix since we did not personally meet his parents. At 5 weeks old he weighed 9.25 lbs, so this little baby bear is going to grow into a really big dog. A REALLY big dog. He is happy, healthy, and like all very young pups he's very playful. We are already working on his very basic training and housetraining, and it's amazing how smart he is.

Gideon is going to need an experienced adopter. A dog his size can go through 7 cups or MORE of dog food per day. And while Mastiffs do not require aggressive exercise, his size alone will require an adequate fenced yard. For this reason, we cannot adopt him out if you rent. This is NO prejudice against renters, we adopt many dogs to all households. But his needs are such that he will need a household prepared for a very large dog and the expense it will require.

Gideon will be ready for a Foster-To-Adopt by January 26th. What this means is that an approved adopter agrees to his adoption fee of $275, plus a deposit of $125 that is refunded when proof of his neuter is submitted. He must be neutered by May 19th, 2015 or his foster agreement will be void and he must be returned to our rescue, and the deposit will not be returned. You will be required to sign a Foster-To-Adopt Agreement, and this agreement is non-negotiable. Once proof of his neuter is provided to us no later than May 19th, the deposit will be returned.
