My story

Here's what the humans have to say about me:

Giovanni is a sweet little boy. He did not bark at our last adoption event and wanted to meet everyone! He clearly has spaniel in him, but he is mixed with something smaller. shorter, and longer ... like maybe a Dachshund? We are looking for a family, with children, who can spend 15+ years with him in his forever home. Giovanni will do best in a calm home as he is high energy. Another dog of high energy will create anxiety. He is looking for a home with a mellow and calm dog or a home where he is the only dog so that he can get happiness out on his own without adding another high energy dog to the mix. Giovanni is crate trained and may do better in a home where he can "retire" to a private crate when he feels scared with lots of activity going on in the house, especially in the beginning of his adoption.

ARF'N primarily adopts only to residents in the counties surrounding Hernando County in central Florida or within a 60-90 min. drive from the Brooksville/Spring Hill areas. The reason for this is that we personally conduct home visits for each of our rescued pets to ensure they are getting a safe home.

The application can be found here: http://www.arfn.org/adoption-application/

Email questions to: info@arfn.org. We do not have a phone number to reach us.

Our adoption fees for dogs range between $150 and $250. All of our pets come completely vetted (spay/neuter, vaccinations, heart worm tested, on heart worm prevention, and a microchip).

ARF'N is a rescue operated by volunteers with full-time professional jobs during the day. We can't always get back to you immediately. Most of our rescue work happens in the evenings and on the weekends. It can typically take up to two weeks to go from application to adoption. More time is required for pets with multiple applications. We do not adopt on a first come, first served basis. We find the best match between pet and adopter. Please be patient with us through this process.
