After over 6 years, this great guy was returned to us by his family that could no longer keep him. For sure, he still has his wonderful manners--he can sit and shake hands and loves to smile! Returned to us heartworm positive, he is now negative and waiting for his new forever home, hoping this one will really be forever! We can easily consider him our gentle giant--weighing in at around 115#s, Maxie loves everyone and is known to rub noses with his friend Edison, the cat. He will, on occasion, chase Ec, but only for sport. Although now considered a senior, this boy has lots of years left and lots of love to give He loves to be outside but settled in nicely while being kenneled inside for his HW treatment. He is perfectly crate trained and has done well with house training. He has not been around children but, considering his sweet temperament, probably would love to have some around as long as they were big enough to not be accidentally knocked over. Max's forever home must have a fenced yard--hopefully with lots of space to run (and get some exercise to take off a few pounds!). For more info on this sweetheart of a guy, call or email. Vet check and home visit required prior to adoption. (Please note--Maxie was shaved due to the condition of his coat--he has very thick, long hair. One photo shows his hair grown out but we will keep soon have him shaved for his summer cut.0
