Patches was a young pup when he found, what should have been, his forever home. It turns out that he grew up, as the lucky ones tend to do! He is a beautiful lab/cocker mix who now weighs about 45 pounds. His mom was a blonde cocker, but he gets the 'shiny black' in his 'cocker-length' coat from his black lab dad. Patches is just over 1 year old and will need someone wiling to spend some time with obedience training. The ladies, one wheelchair bound and one elderly, loved the puppy he was, but he was apparently a little too much dog for them. Patches is very well crate trained, but should be given ample opportunity to run and exercise. A fenced yard would be a real plus for this guy. He is dog-friendly, but not tested with cats. Patches has not been around children much, so that will have to come in stages. Because he is still young and eager to learn, he will make a wonderful pet for almost any family or single dog lover. Please consider giving Patches a second chance. He will surely warm your heart and spice up your life. UPDATE: 7/12 Patch has made great progress learning how to play with other dogs! His favorite activity is running like the wind out in the pasture with his BFF, Harry, a little schnauzer/dachs mix. We have also discovered that he loves to spend his time chasing lizards and crickets. We are thinking he would be a great companion for an 8-10 year old. (Because he grew up in a women only home, he tends to be afraid of men. We think a little patience and experience will help with that, too.)
