My story

Here's what the humans have to say about me:

f you are looking for a loving, smart, house trained dog, Lager just might be your man! Despite being in the shelter for more than a year, he has not lost his attachment to people. He is a volunteer favorite, and with so many admirers, one has to wonder why he hasn’t been adopted yet.

Perhaps it is because Lager barks while in his cage and doesn’t show well to visitors who just stroll by casually. For potential adopters to really understand who Lager is, they absolutely must see him outside, where he thrives.

Lager walks well on leash, likes toys and is happy to strut around the property with one in his mouth…too cute for words!

Lager needs to be the only dog in the home. He would be most happy in a home where he can be the only one to be smothered with love. And he does indeed love to be loved – he is thrilled to be petted and is so happy when someone sits and spends time with him.

After more than a year of shelter life, one can guess that he would be quite appreciative of the comforts that most pets have always known: a soft couch or dog bed and the bond he could have with a new pet parent.
