Joe's Story...
Short Haired Orange Tabby Kitten

Joe is a feisty little guy who came to me from the KCK Animal Control via the Humane Society. He is specifically the type of kitten the benefits most from the foster system. He was only about 4 weeks old and far too young to thrive in a shelter environment. In a home environment he receives one on one attention, has room to run and a companion to play with (see Dolly). He is still to young to be neutered yet, but the way he's eating, he should be ready right around the beginning of December. He can be pre-adopted and taken home after his surgery is completed. His birthdate is estimated as 10/2/09 and his adoption fee is $85. Come visit Joe and Dolly at Mariposa Veterinary Clinic on Saturday from Noon to 5:00 PM.

Why Adoption is a Great Option

Joe, a Lenexa Domestic Shorthair kitten was adopted! Here's how you can benefit by looking at adoption as an option to buying a Domestic Shorthair for sale in Lenexa, or seeking a Domestic Shorthair kitten from a breeder in Lenexa.

  1. Rescues and shelter volunteers in Lenexa already know the personality and tendencies of their pets. This means they can match you with the right pet. That will makes it much easier transition to owning a pet for yourself and your new pet.
  2. On average adoption fees are much less than you'd pay a Lenexa breeder, or pet store. Plus most often rescue pets have already been to the veterinarian for a check-up, had a round of vaccinations, and are spayed or neutered. That is a lot of savings!
  3. You will become a hero, and give a needy dog or cat a loving home. In fact, there are even Domestic Shorthair breeders who help with Domestic Shorthair rescue. One puppy or kitten adopted in Lenexa paves the way for another one to be saved.
