Here's what the humans have to say about me:
Ella is an amazing girl. I rescued her when she was 6 weeks old. A lady was selling her. Ella had burn marks on her and was skittish. She clearly had been mistreated. We bonded right away. She was (is) the biggest baby and loves love.
Ella is one year old. She is a Mastiff and Kane Korso mix. She is healthy, current on vaccines and heartworm prevention.
She's highly intelligent. She sits, stays, comes, and touches on command. She knows how to 'leave it'. If you tell her 'good night' she does to bed and she'll sit on her couch if you tell her too. She'll also get in the bathtub if you tell her 'bath time'.
She's only recently had animosity issues with our husky. I attribute it to wanting to be top dog and wanting all the love for herself. She was raised with kids, a husky, and a cat.
Some of it could be that I had a baby 6 months ago, so Ella isn't spoiled all the time. She still gets lots of love though. She does great with the kids. She only gets skittish if my 4 year old is running around and waving things. Which probably brings back horrible memories. She will also growl if he gets too close to her toy. However, I can reach down and grab the toy or a treat right out of her mouth and she's fine.
The problem has arose with her getting into spats with the other dog. I don't want her accidentally biting one of the kids. I think she would be fine with older kids and even male dogs.
She will pee to mark her spot, but only when the other dog is around.
She is very trainable. She immediately learns every trick you teach her. She loves to play. She throws balls up in the air and catches them outside. I think she needs a home where they are very experienced with the breed and/or do not have any other dogs or small children. She does fine with the cat.
She loves to cuddle. She will try to sneak into your bed and she will use your pillow and pull blankets over herself. She needs lots of hugs.
Ella is looking for a home as an only dog, and with kids over 12 years old. Cats in the home are just fine!
She will go to her new home with her medical records. Ella is currently living in New Glarus, WI. Her adoption fee is $200.
