My story

Here's what the humans have to say about me:

Meet Senior Sam, another poor geriatric Cocker Spaniel dumped in the New York City shelter system, where he languished unwanted until he got very sick. Senior dogs fare very poorly in a shelter environment. Their adoption prospects are slight and they tend to be fragile. They no longer have the appeal of a young dog and often need a lot of medical, neglect over the years having very much taken its toll. We try to pull them quickly, but do not always succeed. Unfortunately, by the time we got to him, Sam had come down with pneumonia, and since that time has been surviving rather precariously at our vet's office, where things are touch and go. He seems to be pulling through now, leaving a big medical balance for us in his wake, but we view him as very much worth it and just want him to get well. If you are able to help, we are seeking donations towards his care; large or small does not matter, as every penny counts (our paypal recipient address is donation@nyabandonedangels.com). Once he fully recovers, Senior Sam will be neutered, microchipped, vaccinated, tested for heartworm and given a dental. He will also be treated to a professional grooming and a new leash and collar. If you would like to adopt or foster Senior Sam (who is a gentle, loving soul with nice disposition), please email rescue@nyabandonedangels.com or visit http://www.nyabandonedangels.com/, where you can complete and return an on-line application. Before we forget!! Just so that you are aware, Senior Sam has an undocked tail, as nature made him. We love our dogs this way and Senior Sam loves his tail also ... happily, it is showing signs of beginning to wag again.
