My story

Here's what the humans have to say about me:

Please meet Layla! Layla is a gorgeous female German Shepherd/Border Collie mix! She is approx. 3-4 years old, but has a puppy's personality! Layla is approx. in the 40 pound range, fully grown. She's a great medium sized dog. Layla will be spayed, updated on all shots and vetted before adoption, with all vet records transferred to her new owner. Some of the perks of adopting a dog around Layla's age is that she will come to her new home with some doggie training already under her belt. Also, she is no longer in the that hyperactive, very needy "puppy stage" where she will need constant attention. Just the opposite, Layla is a very well behaved little lady! Layla is amazing and has the personality that will make you love her at first sight! She is very friendly with everyone, including children, adults, strangers, and she doesn't seem to mind other dogs or cats. Layla absolutely loves people, meeting new friends, saying hello with a doggie kiss and a tail wag, and accompanying her people on walks. Layla is always a happy camper and she lights up any room with her adorable doggie smile! This girl adores getting attention, showing her love, and being part of the family pack. True to her German Shepherd side, Layla makes a wonderful family dog and is very sweet with children. Layla continues to surprise us with her intelligence- she catches on quickly to training and learning new things! We think this is from her Border Collie side. Some of Layla's favorite things are doggie treats, playing fetch, getting/giving kisses and cuddles, warm blankets fresh from the dryer, walking or playing outside, and cuddling up with those she loves for nap time or at night time. Layla gets very happy and excited when she recognizes a familiar face, and she will come running to you when you call for her! She's a really sweet girl. Layla can be silly and playful, but other times, she just wants a good cuddle and together time with her family. This is what Layla's foster mom has to say about her: "Layla is very gentle and would be great with kids! She is extremely gentle when she takes a toy or a treat from my hand. She moves really slowly, tilts her head, and carefully takes the treats from me. If she can't get it, she stops and waits for me to give it to her. When we play with her doggie toys and I tell her to give it to me, she drops it on the floor and waits for me to pick it up and throw it for her. She loves playing fetch and bringing it back to me. She'll be a great family dog and she's extremely sweet and well behaved! What a gem." To adopt, please read all of the following:
