My story

Here's what the humans have to say about me:

LOLA IN OMAHA, NEBRASKA HAS BEEN ADOPTED!

If you would like more information, please contact Jan at nbgrtexas@yahoo.com or fill out an adoption application at www.brusselsgriffonrescue.org. Lola is being lovingly fostered in a private home near Omaha, Nebraska.

Lola is a totally delightful 11.6 lb., 6 yr. old, exceptionally friendly, happy, highly energetic, and athletic spit fire of a little girl who loves life and everyone she meets, even respectful children! During a recent visit to the vet, she took on the role of official door greeter, and charmed everyone who walked in the door. Her foster family has quickly learned that Lola's sole goal in life is to make them smile, and twist their hearts around her little paw. Without a doubt, she is succeeding in that endeavor in no time at all!

She loves the great outdoors and zooms at high speed, romping and playing in the fenced back yard. She gets along well with other dogs, and has lived peacefully with a cat. Lola is most definitely all about compatibility, and assuring everyone lives together peacefully and happily.

If you like road trips, Lola is very well behaved in the car. Just as we would do with a small child to assure their safely in vehicles, Lola always rides in the back seat, and wears her harness which is secured to the seat belt. After a few peeks out the window, she settles down and naps for the duration of the trip...the perfect little road warrior.

Lola is just about the perfect Griff! She is house trained as long as she is allowed to go outside every few hours, is calm indoors, loves to snuggle, is her foster mom and dad's constant shadow, and loves sleeping in the big bed at night! Her only possible negative would be at meal time. This little girl loves to eat, and practically inhales her food, so her food intake will need to be monitored very closely so she does not become over weight. If other dogs are in the home, she will need to eat separately from the others, otherwise she will push them out of the way and steal their food.

Lola led a very happy life before coming into rescue and was very much loved. Sadly, her former mom, through no fault of her own, experienced a major change in her life. She realized she could no longer provide Lola the kind of life she had always experienced and deserved to continue experiencing.

With a very heavy heart, the decision was made that it was in Lola's best interests to find a new home for her where someone could continue to be home with her, rather than leaving her home alone for long periods of time while her mom was away at work. For this reason, we are looking for a home with a stay at home mom or dad, and other small dogs for Lola to play with. She would do best with families who lead an active life style as this little girl has energy to burn plus!

Lola is spayed, up to date on vaccinations, heart worm negative, on monthly heart worm preventative, micro chipped, and will have a dental before she is placed with her new forever family.

Keep in mind that we prefer to place dogs within driving distance of where they are being fostered. If someone from outside the local area is approved for adoption, they must be willing to fly in to get the dog and that can only happen if the dog is stable enough to travel in the cabin with the passenger.
