My story

Here's what the humans have to say about me:

Bart is waiting to go on an adventure and wants you to go with him! He is inquisitive, fearless, and ready for anything. He loves going for walks or a run, climbing, jumping (not on people though), investigating the yard for bugs, sticks, or anything else he finds interesting. He especially loves to search for squirrels! Wresting with his four legged siblings is always a fun part of his day. Not only does he play and work hard, he sleeps hard. He loves curling up with his four legged siblings or his people when it’s time to rest.

Bart waits politely in his crate for his turn at meal time, and when it's bedtime, he settles into his crate without a peep all night, although he has proven himself trustworthy enough at night to sleep on the dog ottoman without incident. He knows “sit”, “free” “leave it” and we’re working on consistent “down”, and “come”. Bart is intelligent and his mind is always turning, so needs plenty of playtime, walks, and/or mental stimulation so he does not create his own fun. I bet he could be one of those dogs you could teach back flips to.

Got children? Bart has behaved so nicely when children of all ages want to "pet the puppy" when we are on outings. From toddler to older children, Bart stands, sits, or lays down and absorbs all the lovin' he can.

After some research, it appears Bart is most likely a Mountain Cur, but this is only our best guess as the only real way to know his genetic make up is a DNA test. Our 1 yr. old boy is heartworm negative, neutered, completely vetted, housebroken, & is ready for you to take him on all the adventures in your life.
