My story

Here's what the humans have to say about me:

HI my name is Maxie. I was hit by a car on the hwy about 3 years ago. The lady who hit me brought me to a no-kill shelter. The staff fell in love with me. They had lost thier rottweiler mascot (Baby) to cancer last year and another mascot a Chesapeak Bay Retriever (Ginger). I reminded them of Baby in appearance and Ginger in personality so they decided to keep me as a mascot and run with Tyson the boxer. I lost my best friend Tyson to cancer the end of January this year. On March 25th the shelter's board members fired all of the employees (even the boss). They were going to put all the mascots to sleep (3 cats and 3 dogs). The shelter works said that they wouldn't stand by while innocent animals were put to sleep so they took as many animals as they could into thier own homes. They are now working out of foster homes in order to keep doing they good they were doing. I am in a wonderful foster home with a 4 year old little boy. I LOVE it here but they can't keep me forever. I am now looking for a perment home. I am very sweet. I can walk on a leash but most of them time my foster parents don't use one because I am so well behaved. I am housebroken and don't chew alot. I am not hyper. I like to lay around but also like to play ball. Please Please Please help me find a forever home where I won't have to fear where I will end up.
