My story

Here's what the humans have to say about me:

5/3/15 - I'VE BEEN ADOPTED!

Adoption Fee: $150

Fostered in Mississippi

Age: 11 years

Weight: 5.7 lbs.

4/13/15 - I’m not sure what’s so unlikeable about me, but seems the other yorkie in previous home (of 1 year) didn’t care for me. I guess since he had always been the only baby, he didn’t care for me getting love and attention. So, he made it his mission to make me scared and miserable. Knowing this wasn’t the correct place, my parents reached out to rescue so that I could find an appropriate home for me where I could get love and attention. Since my life prior to my last year was in a breeding facility, I personally don’t mind sharing with other dogs.

Anyway, now this senior lady is spayed, up to date on shots, had a dental and is ready to find a low key home that can love this 5.7 lb. bundle of sweetness. I do like the company of other dogs and wouldn’t mind if you had a low key one.... or two. I could also be convinced to be the only princess if mom and/or dad was home a lot with me.

I might be small, but I have some jumpers on me, so don’t think you are going to sit on the sofa without me. I also like to sleep in the bed with my person/people, so you can either pick me up or just get me a set of those steps for us four-leggers and I’ll meet you by our pillow. My main issue right now would be potty training. It will take me a little while to get the hang of this, but I’m willing to learn and am trying. I get distracted outside sometimes, and forget what I’m out there for and will then come in and tinkle. Another dog in the home will help. I will also use pee pads if another dog uses them, but still make mistakes. I haven’t been in a situation yet that I’ve been able to be assisted with this, so you can’t fault me. I will need parents that understand that this is new for me.

I eat very well and just know that I will love attention once I am used to getting it. For now, when foster mom talks to me, I hunker down as if I'm going to be hit. I am very scared, timid and shy right now, but I'm hoping to come out of all this with the confidence and attitude of a 10 lb. dog. teehee. For right now though, I'm a little afraid of loud noises, quick movements and my own shadow. But, if you have a home that is very low key, quiet and the patience to help me learn where to potty and help me through my scared personality, I would love to join you and sleep in bed with you.

And if you're not a morning person, you will love me! I LOVE sleeping late and won't make a sound until you decide it's time to get up and even then you may have to coax me to get up to eat breakfast! I'm not sure who made up that saying about the early bird getting the worm, but who wants worms anyway!
