My story

Here's what the humans have to say about me:

Tippy is a petite 19-pound diva, approximately 7 years old. She has been loved and well cared for her entire life, but unfortunately her elderly owner can no longer keep her. She is extremely affectionate and loves nothing more than a good cuddle, some kisses, and back scratch. She doesn’t play much except for a little fetch (which is more like keep-away), but loves going out in the yard and is learning how to walk on a leash.

She would most likely be better off as the only dog; she enjoys playing with other dogs but is not very good at sharing toys and food.. She also believes cats are for chasing and doesn’t view them as potential friends. After all, she knows she’s the most beautiful Boston ever, and she deserves all the goodies and attention.

Tippy is very social and likes being around people. She does well with children but has a tendency to jump and would probably be better off with older children. She plays very nicely with her foster mama’s 4-year-old grandson, but she has also upset him by greeting him and trying too play too enthusiastically. It’s just her way of saying "Hello," and she just doesn’t understand why he’s not happy to see her too! She also keeps stealing his big-block Legos and running off with them, which we grownups think is hilarious, but he doesn’t. She doesn't bark much, but takes her role as Fearless Watch Dog very seriously and will announce strange dogs walking by and people at the door.

Tippy is housebroken, crate trained, spayed, microchipped and up-to-date on all her shots. She is a sweet-natured little thing who will make someone a wonderful companion. She is very intelligent, curious, loving, and all the fun things a dog should be.

To learn more about Tippy, call her foster mom, Kathy, at 706-599-9207. To adopt Tippy, visit bostonrescueofsc.org and fill out the adoption application. Tippy's adoption fee is $300.
