My story

Here's what the humans have to say about me:

If you needed to illustrate the words, “sweet”, “cuddly”, or “huggable”, you would simply have to choose our Honey Girl as your model. Honey Girl is a dog who loves her people, loves lap time, loves to cuddle and kiss. And isn’t she adorable?

Honey Girl is a 9-year-old rat terrier, spayed, up to date on all her vaccinations, microchipped, housetrained, crate trained and ready to find her forever family.

Honey Girl is a plump little dumpling of a dog. When she came to HLD, she weighed about 25.5 pounds! But with the help of her foster mom, she’s been working hard to lose a few, and at her last weigh-in, she tipped the scales as 23 pounds. Way to go, Honey Girl! Her forever family will need to continue to help her lose another six pounds or so, which shouldn’t be too hard. Honey Girl loves her low-fat dog food and even loves the green beans her foster mom supplements her food with.

Our adoption process is simple. We ask you to complete a one-page application. An interview will then take place in your home. There will be no adoption fee. Donations, though, will be appreciated.

Adoptions outside of Northwest Arkansas are not out of the question. We welcome sincere inquiries from anywhere, and we’re happy to work with long-distance applicants.
