WHY IS HE IN NEED?. this gorgeous fellow was picked up as a stray. He is in a high kill shelter tht is faced to euth many such dogs- mixes and purebreds. Shelter requested help.
WHERE IS HE NOW ?? He is going into foster care in the goderich area to settle and so we can confirm his needs.
More will be posted after he arrives .

A shelter favorite .
He's 2-3 years old, 69 lbs., gets along with other dogs and with cats. I specifically had them further test him with cats, and he is not aggressive. One of the cats whacked him, and he backed up and was then afraid to go near it.
He has been exposed to kids/ teens and is very good. He is high energy and d/t lack of training does not understand boundaries very well to be respectful of space and how to play . He thinks that grabbing, mouthing is a game and can knock someone down.. .so we prefer homes with teens.
He is a bit of a puller on leash.. and seems to take direction better from a male than female- perhaps d/t a stronger presence/ energy .
Excited to meet people/ dogs... anyone. He has no issues in meeting strangers.
He would do best with access to immediate training classes for bonding and training.
He needs a active family who can meet his needs for play, training and solid structure as he can have a crazy bursts of craziness in what we call the witching hour..lol

The adoption fee does NOT cover the cost of vetting or supplies for these animals - If you cannot afford the adoption fee
(that is a fraction of actual REDUCED VETTING expenses incurred) then you should reconsider adopting.
These animals deserve forever homes, good food, regular vet care, and emergency care as needed.
Pets should never be euthanized by their owners simply based on financial consideration when something goes wrong.

It can be completed, saved and emailed back to the rescue at
petrescue@hurontel.on.ca .
1. We require a fully filled app to be considered as a possible home
2. Only the approved app will be premitted a viewing with the pet ** in the foster home **
3. ALL family members MUST meet the dog ** in the foser home** .
4. Any exsisting pets MUST attend the meet/ greet with the dog ** at the foster home ** .
5. A home visit must be completed as part of the adoption process after the inital viewing by a rescue representative.
This is not a replacement of the meet/ greet at the Foster home.
6. We do not adopt outside of ONTARIO .
7. We do not deliver dogs. If and once the adoption process is approved and complete the dog must be picked up at the
foster home
