Here's what the humans have to say about me:
Hi my name is Hunter, but my foster Mom calls me an angel. I was surrendered to this kind rescue group by my original owners who did not have time for me anymore (no, I don't get that either), so you'll notice I want A LOT of attention!
I will soon be 12 years old, but don't think for a minute that I'm elderly! I'm in great shape and my only medical issue is some of those fatty tumors my breed is prone to get. My foster Mom took me to have them checked out by the Dog Doctor and he gave the OK (i.e. no cancer). I do have one under my left armpit that gets in my way a bit but doesn't slow me down.
I have learned from my foster Mom to share attention with my foster sisters (all three of them!); at first I was kinda hogging the attention with a little growl, but I learned that it is not a good thing to do. I LOVE to have attention, but I get along with the girls really well. I will follow you everywhere, will want to lay in your lap often (all 65 pounds of me!), and will want to sleep with you (I REALLY want to be under your covers and am just not comfortable until I'm there). I will sleep in a dog bed on the floor if you ask me to, but you may find me in bed with you when you wake up in the morning.
Also, did I say I LOVE to have attention? I am friendly with everyone (although I did growl at the Dog Doctor very briefly until I realized he was OK). I am house trained (although foster Mom was not pleased that I marked my spot a couple times my first week). I stand at the door if I need to go out to potty, but I like my foster Mom to come with me because I don't want to miss a minute with her. If she isn't there I don't take as much time to potty like I should. I do come when called, can sit, lay down and paw on command. I don't counter surf (but am slightly interested in it - who wouldn't be?), and I settle well in the house. I have plenty of energy if you'd be so kind to walk and run with me (I'm very strong and need work on my leash manners though). I also love a good game of fetch.
I'm being fostered in Illinois and my adoption donation is $250. If you could use an angel in your house, I'd like to apply for the job! Let Senior Moments Weims know that you'd like to meet me by filling out the adoption application at senior-moments-weimaraners.com.
I look forward to meeting you!
XOXO Hunter
