My story

Here's what the humans have to say about me:

Tessa is a senior calico who is at least fifteen years old. She was abandoned by her owner at a feral cat colony in the middle of winter. Fortunately she was found by a CCR volunteer and put into a foster home. She weighed only 3.4 lbs at the time she was rescued and was suffering from advanced thyroid disease. Weighing so little and not able to compete with the feral cats for food in the coldest part of the winter, it is quite amazing that she survived. Her thyroid levels are now well under control and she continues to gain weight. Tessa will require a home that is willing to give a cat medication in pill form on a daily basis. The medication costs around $35 per month. There is a cheaper chewable form but it's quite difficult to get her to eat it. She will also need semi-regular vet check-ups to monitor her thyroid levels. She will also require a strictly indoor only home since she has less than perfect hearing and vision. She gets around just fine on her own but wouldn't be safe on her own outdoors. She is good with polite dogs and other cats, and would prefer a quieter home life. She is tidy with her litter box and is a very sweet and snuggly cat.
