I was rescued from a Northern Quebec reservation a few hours away from Montreal, see there are no vets up there and so there are no options for spay or neuter programs.... some of the reservations still have no electricity or running water so life is not always easy for the people let alone the animals; most of the stray dogs just roam and roam out on the streets all year long breeding over and over again so it does not take very long for the population to get out of control and a dog cull is scheduled. Thankfully there are some very kind volunteers who are trying to make a difference and one of those volunteers made my rescue off the streets possible finding rescue placement with a CAA Rescue foster family.
I am looking for a family that I can love forever and they can love me back; I promise I am a very loyal family man
I am house broken but still learning how to do my business on the leash; I will pee on the leash and not poo so this will make life very interesting for anyone living in an apartment! Right now I need a fenced in back yard where I can sneak off and do my business in private off leash
I am good on the leash and so far in foster care I am not a vocal dog but who knows how that will change over time
I have been left alone for up to 5 hours and there was no destruction or anxiety but I do have the resident doggie to keep me company
I am absolutely dog and people friendly
I do not live in foster care with any cats but I have met them on leash with no reaction but all that being said that could change if loose in the home with cats so ideally a home with no cats or cats who are extremely dog savvy
I show no leash, toy or food possession or aggression
I do love children very much and am very gentle
I am extremely intelligent and love to do anything you are doing, I learn fast. I am very eager to please my humans and make them happy; it is all I truly live for now
I am a sensitive man and so will not respond well to dominance or harsh style training methods. I am the most ZEN dog you will ever meet … I am very calm and gentle
I want to be a part of a family, with them doing everything they are doing, as one of them. Any activities you have planned should always include me.
I will require very little work on leash training so if walking slowly and calmly is your thing then we definitely have one thing in common
I am low to medium activity level so if you are looking for a partner to jog with you then that probably is not me … I am more of a stroll casually and stop to smell the roses kind of guy.
If you are looking for those non shedding dogs; then I am probably not your man.
