My story

Here's what the humans have to say about me:

Wendy is a fun loving, 2 year old 65 pound beautiful shepherd/doberman mix. She is very bright and loves toys and food about as much as she loves to meet people! Wendy is a young girl who ended up at the local shelter when/where our assessment team happened to be looking for cycle 8 pups. We fell in love with a beautiful, calm, poised young dog and agreed to take her as our own. When we went back to check up on her a few days later she showed off some of that glorious personality- a happy, bouncy, silly girl. Little did we know there was a reason for the 'big personality change'. When Wendy was moved over to the jail it was apparent pretty quickly that she was back to not feeling so great. Our bouncy girl was once again quiet and stoic. After a few vet visits our sweet girl ended up having to stay at the vet to be treated for Pneumonia! We kept in very close touch and moved her back in with her handlers at the jail when she was well enough. Once Wendy was returned to the jail she started to show some stressed behavior. Our guys did their very best asking each trainer for advice and following it to the letter but as Wendy began to feel more healthy she was able to make it very clear she was not interested in being a 'jail dog'. She had gained her freedom from the shelter and she wanted to live out there in the real world!

Wendy has since been staying with a great doggy day care facility because once you are a Canine CellMates' dog, you are ALWAYS one of the family! Though her medical and boarding costs have well exceeded our predictions we could not possibly love her any more than we do. Our trainers and volunteers keep a stream of visitors so she won't get lonely or bored and every single staff member that interacts with her talks about what a great young dog she is, full of potential. Wendy needs her very own forever home. She is tired of waiting in boarding and she is not interested in moving back to the jail. Since we know she can be stressed by big changes we'd like for her to go to an experienced adopter. Our trainers will gladly assist in her continuing education until she is adopted and once she finally finds the love of her life. We absolutely love this beautiful girl and want to see her in the best possible home.
