Name: Mannie
Breed: Chihuahua
Gender: Neutered Male
Age: Approx. 2 yrs 9 mos in Jan. '16
Weight: Approx. 8.75 lbs
Energy Level: Low - Medium (but may show more energy once he is comfortable)
Apartment Appropriate: Unknown, but we think he would be fine
Good w/ Dogs: Ok with calm small dogs, large dogs unknown
Good w/ Cats: Unknown
Good w/ Kids: No kids, please
Comments: Mannie came in with two female dogs when his caretaker became unable to care for them. Don't let that sugar on his lips fool you- he's still a young guy at only around a few years old. He's just so sweet, it came right out in his coloring! Speaking of color, Mannie is the most beautiful rich chocolate color. It is so striking and his coat is soft and lovely to touch. We had to work on Mannie's weight when he first came to us, but he's looking really great and slim and will now just need a family to maintain his new fitness. Mannie is still shy with new people, but he really wants and appreciates attention and will gently touch and kiss your hand for petting. He does seem more comfortable around women than men, but loves cuddles with his foster mom. He does well with the other small dogs in his foster home, but he does not appreciate dogs bumping him and being in his face. We think he might do ok as an only dog if his person was home most of the time, but otherwise, he would really appreciate another small, not-too-hyper pup as a buddy in his forever home. The females he came in with bossed him around, and he just followed along with that, "Yes, dear" attitude, so if your little bossy girl is looking for the perfect man, Mannie is just the right fit! If you’d like to give Mannie the love and stability he is so craving, please fill out an application to meet him today!
