UPDATE: Goldie is a survivor of the Mason County shelter fire! She is on her way to Happy Dog Rescue today (11/26). Read more about the fire here: http://masoncounty.petfinder.com.
A little background...Goldie is currently at one of the rural shelters we work with. She was abandoned when her family's house burnt down. This shelter is trying to go no-kill and is extremely overloaded with animals right now. They've asked for help with finding Goldie a home. We are prescreening adopters for her before arranging her transport to our rescue. Please submit an application if you would like to be considered as a forever family for her.
We asked for more info from the shelter about Goldie. Here's what they had to say: She is a very sweet girl, who loves everyone she meets. She never had any attention, except bad attention, from the people who had her, so she desperately wants someone to love on her and pet her. She's been fully vetted and is heart worm negative. Weighs approx. 60-65lbs. I asked the shelter manager if she thought she would be okay with an older couple (if they could handle her on a walk, etc.) and she said yes. She's not a hyper, bouncing off the wall Lab like some can be.
Goldie is a mix between a yellow lab and a chocolate lab. She is 4 years old, very sweet, loves people, and will "talk" to you...too cute! She gets along fine with other dogs. Hershey is her son. Goldie is fully vetted and heartworm negative.
We are not a shelter. Our dogs are fostered in a home environment. All meetings are by appointment. We do not know if any of our dogs are good with cats as we have no way to cat test them in our foster program.
