My story

Here's what the humans have to say about me:

{I WAS RESCUED} My name is PILLSBURY - I SHOULD NOT BE ALIVE. It looked like I had been shot in the side of the head and left for dead. I managed to muster up enough strength to find my way to the home of a Good Samaritan who took one look at me from her door and knew something was seriously wrong. Some of my teeth were shattered and my ear laid just enough to hide a hole. A shelter worker from CASA caught wind of me, a dog in distress yet out of their jurisdiction, she got permission to leave her shelter to go try and help me. She got me in her car and drove me to the Everett Animal Shelter where they knew about me and were awaiting my arrival - operating table ready. As they laid me on my side and sedated me more damage started to show. No bullet was able to be retrieved, but there was little to explain what could have done this to me. I spent countless days recovering in the care of the staff and volunteers at the Everett Animal Shelter. Along the way I had visitors from CASA and the Good Samaritan whose door I stumbled up to. Many people waited throughout the day with baited breath for updates after I was found. This may have been the first time people cared about me.

Adoptions of bully breeds have been a little slow at CASA and I waited for them to get a space longer than they had planned. In the end they shuffled dogs and squeezed me in so I could finally take this huge step in moving forward with my life. No one ever stepped forward to say they owned me or even knew me at all. For this I was thankful. I didn't matter before, but I matter now.

I am a young, beefy, fun-loving bully boy who loves a good ball and playing in the water. I have learned a number of things during my time in the shelter system including "sit" and "shake." I am very well potty trained, I ride well in the car, and I love-love-love people.

I am incredibly strong, so I will need someone who I cannot muscle around on walks and such. I need someone who will not only keep me learning, but also keep me safe. I fell in love with a pretty bully girl while at the Everett shelter and she is also here at CASA. The shelter will be working on reintroducing me to her to see if we still have a spark and they will also be evaluating me with other dogs I have not met yet and some cats. Stay tuned for more on that.

Thank you to everyone who helped me make it this far and for giving me a SECOND CHANCE AT LIFE.
