My story

Here's what the humans have to say about me:

Hi there! I'm Choo Choo and my foster mom says I'm safe now because I'm a SARA cat! Thank goodness! I'm done with being an independent solo cat, I want a family and a home where I can be safe - I want a friend like you with me if I have anymore adventures. My foster mom says I've used up too many of my nine lives already! Want to hear my story?

When I was really little I lived with my mom and litter mates. One day I got lost and ended up by myself, it was scary. I was trying to find my way home and I got hit by a car. That hurt and I lay down by the side of the road. It's hot in the desert in June so I knew I couldn't stay there; I started to drag myself along the road to look for water. A big man stopped to help, but I was scared and I didn't know then that he was a nice man, so I took off running and ran up a tree. The man tried to get me down, but I was too scared. He called some people called "animal control" and they sounded scary so I stayed where I was. The animal control people wouldn't come and get me because I could move. The man then called SARA and they came out to help - I was still scared and when the man finally got me out of the tree, I wiggled as hard as I could, ran away, crossed the rail road tracks with a train coming, and hid in the bushes! I thought I had escaped - but my leg really hurt, and I was really tired and thirsty. I was such a sad, lonely kitten. I stayed really, really quiet as the man and the SARA lady tried to hunt me down. They looked and looked and looked, but they couldn't find me. Haha! After a while the man went on his way and while he was saying goodbye to the SARA lady, I ran out of the bushes and hid under a train. I thought I'd escaped them, but that SARA lady was just not giving up. She kept looking for me even though trains kept going right by. I stayed really quiet and small under a railroad tie, even when the trains went over my head - that was really loud and scary. I crept under a parked train and thought I'd rest, when suddenly felt hands! Aaaagh! It was that persistent SARA lady. She snuck up on me while my ears were still ringing from the noise of the train. I did my best wiggle, wiggle - but she would not let go! She put me in a plastic box with some food and water and a blanket - I have to admit that it wasn't too bad, so I settled in for a nap.

When I woke up I was at a place called the Dr. Vet. She was nice but she kind of poked and prodded me. She said I had soft tissue damage but nothing was broken and I needed good food because I was malnourished. She gave the SARA lady medicine for me and special food. The SARA lady took me home and spoiled me rotten (as she says I so deserve). I have to admit, I kinda like it here, but there are other cats and I can tell that I need to start looking for a home so that the SARA lady will have room if another kitten gets lost. I've had a few more trips to the Dr. Vet and they said I'm healthy and once I'm bigger I will be spayed. I have a few more weeks here until I grow some more - but now that I feel great I'm happy, playful, and like to snuggle - I'm not scared anymore - a new family will be my new adventure and I'd love to share it with you!
