My story

Here's what the humans have to say about me:

Noodle is an approximately 1-2 year old male Basset mix weighing 38 lbs. He was found as a stray, and his family never came to find him at the local shelter. Here is what the shelter staff had to say about him and why he was on doggy death row and entered our rescue/rehab/foster/re-home program yesterday (July 21):

Noodle is such a social little lovebug, but has a hard time showing his full personality here at the shelter. When I went to get him from his kennel, he crawled toward me on his belly, thumping his tail frantically. I had no trouble leashing him, but he was too scared to walk out of the kennel, so I carried him. (And he's no lap dog!)

Once I got Noodle into the outdoor yard, it took him about 5 minutes of sniffing and relaxing before he started to show his true colors. First he walked to me with his head low and tail wagging, and leaned into my hand for pets. Within a few minutes of that, he was wriggling around on his back next to me, snorting and whimpering and shoving his head into my hands! What a little goof! Once we'd broken the ice, he was all silly smiles and cuddles.

We introduced Noodle to an adult female pit bull, and he was extremely friendly and submissive. He licked her face like crazy, then crawled under her on his belly. She was a little taken aback by his attentions, but was pretty tolerant.

During his behavior evaluation, Noodle was timid but friendly with the testers. He tolerated invasive handling, but seemed nervous. He showed no interest in treats or food. Rescue was requested due to fearfulness.

Noodle is such a cute, happy boy, I bet he will do just fine in a home environment."

We will post updated photos and a video too by next Wed.
