My story

Here's what the humans have to say about me:

Updated BIO 8/8/2015 Bogey is a tiny 8 year old, 3.5 lb. Yorkie boy being fostered in Beechgrove TN. Please Note: Bogey may not go to a home with children under the age of 14.

Bogey says “Well HELLO EVERY PAW-DEE” That’s Tennessee Yorkie Talk!

My new foster Momma and Daddy took me to the nicest Dogtor on Monday. They all loved on me bunches and told me what a good boy I was! I was really happy when Foster Dad took me back there on Friday to get “tutored”……..Then I woke up with a sore hiney and missing some of my BOY PARTS……..And most of my TOOFIES TOO! GRRRR…….I don’t think I want to get “tutored” again! But, I have been getting some extra special love and treats since then plus my Foster Mom bought me this cute Neck Tie to wear so I guess it’s okay!

I’m getting all settled in her at my foster home. It’s like a big puppy party here all the time. I have lots of fur siblings here that I get along with just fine. One thing I have discovered here at my foster home is steps…….I do NOT LIKE THEM and I will NOT GO UP OR DOWN THEM. They look like giant mountains to me! My foster Mom has tried her best to coax me but I will not do it. I like it when she just carries me around in her robe pocket….it is nice and warm there.

I am doing a tiny bit better with my potty manners but I have never been house trained and this stuff is hard to learn. I do line up and go out and make potty with all my other fur siblings but then I will come right back in and go on a chair leg if no one is watching me. The Dogtor said getting “tutored” would likely help with that some so we shall see. Foster Mom is working with me on that.

If you have been keeping up with me yow know that I don’t talk because my vocal cords have been clipped. You see, I was a breed dog in my previous life and I guess they didn’t want me to bark. I also have a tattoo on my belly. Foster Mom says lots of humans have tattoos and it’s no big deal. I am very sweet and I love nothing better than to be in someone lap and be petted. If you stop petting me I will give you a nudge with my head to make you start up again! As much as I LOVE to be petted, I am not much of a kisser…….I prefer to snuggle and cuddle and Foster Mom says that is okay with her cuz I’m really good at it!

Dogtor Tom says after a few days to recover I will be ready to go to my new forever home. My foster Mom and Dad think I will do best in a home with no children under the age of 14 and one in which people are home to spend lots of time with me. And if you have lots of steps in your house, you should be prepared to carry me lots! I like to be carried. And petted. And loved. If that sounds like you then please apply to adopt me.

Love Bogey

Bogey came to UYR needing FULL Veterinary Care. Any contributions to help us defray the cost of getting Bogey healthy and ready for adoption are MUCH APPRECIATED!

Initial Bio 8/2/2015 Bogey is a tiny 8 year old, 3 lb. 12 oz. Yorkie boy being fostered in Beechgrove TN. Bogey came to us from a family undergoing some changes that necessitated his rehoming.

Prior to their having him for the last two years, Bogey was a breeder stud dog. Because of this, Bogey has some unusual characteristics we do not commonly see. His vocal cords have been "clipped". This means that little Bogey is not vocal. He can make some sounds but this little fella does not and in fact, cannot "bark" like most pups. I am also told that he has a tattoo on his abdomen though it is currently covered by fur and Foster Mom and Dad have yet to see it. So far little Bogey is very sweet and he gets along very well with the 6 canine fur siblings and 4 feline fur siblings he has met in his foster home! There has been lots of "hiney" sniffing going on her but everyone is now settled in and Bogey is figuring out his place in his new "pack." He is very active and runs around the house following his humans and fur siblings everywhere and is a very BUSY little Boy! Bogey is missing quite a few teeth and what he has left is not in the greatest shape. He was able to eat a nice breakfast of regular kibble this morning moistened with a little warm water and he did just fine. Bogey also "marks" his territory which is common in "intact" male stud dogs so we are hoping having him neutered will help with this. However, he will also go outside and make potty along with the rest of the pack AND Foster Mom caught him using a potty pad this morning though I think it would be premature to say he is potty pad trained. Bogey is not used to walking on a leash and act as if he has never done this before.

Bogey JUST ARRIVED in his foster home, and has been there for just one night. Soon we will head to Dogtor Tom's to find out what kind of shape this little bundle of love is in. He is going to need at a minimum, a complete physical and lab work, immunizations, a neutering, dental, microchip, and fingers crossed that he will be otherwise healthy. Due to his tiny size Bogey cannot go to a home with children under the age of 14.

Any contributions to help us defray the cost of getting Bogey healthy and ready for adoption are MUCH APPRECIATED! Stay tuned as we get to know little Bogey better!
