Here's what the humans have to say about me:
This is Tosha. She came in to the Okmulgee Humane Society very, very pregnant and had her three babies before I could even get there to pick her up! We brought her home and put her and her babies in my daughter's closet...with a shelf where she could jump away from the babies and take a break. She never left the babies. We opened the door to the rest of the room every day...but she would not leave the babies.
She was half wild and didn't accept human affection well.
A few days later the animal shelter called to say three more kittens--quite a bit older--had been dropped off at the shelter and they needed a foster mama. We added in three more much-bigger kittens and she accepted them as her own.
Meanwhile, her sister was upstairs having her litter of four babies.
As the kittens became toddlers, I realized my house was too small for two adult cats and nine kittens (Tosha lost the weakest of her three). I put an air conditioning unit in my garage...added carpet, play toys, litter boxes, and lots of food bowls. No matter how many food bowls there are, though, Tosha remains thin because she'll always lie down and let kittens nurse...even now that they are 13, 11, and 9 weeks old! Soon after moving to the garage Tosha's sister made a break for it and ran for the hills but Tosha never tried to escape and accepted all nine kittens as her own.
This cat deserves a medal....and a good home. Here she is photographed with one of the 11-week old kittens (her biological baby) just to show you how she is. We have separated her from the half grown "babies."
OH! And she's tamed up! Uses her litter box. She's beautiful. She's about a year old.
Please consider adopting Tosha and treating her like the Queen-Kitty she is? The $35 adoption fee(thru the end of August) covers getting her SPAYED (YES!!!), deworming, vaccinations and flea control.
Regular Adoption fee is $65. Email okmhumsoc@sbcglobal.net to request an adoption application
