My story

Here's what the humans have to say about me:

Wombat (male) and Braveheart (female) (bonded pair), 3 years, Staffie mixes, 37lbs each

These two lovelies were confiscated with 12 other dogs from a horrible abuse and neglect situation, with suspected dog fighting. The owner is in jail. They have come a very long way since leaving that place and entering their new life.

They both need very slow intros to other dogs, the other dog must be of an even temperament and respectful of boundaries. Due to being suspected bait dogs, as they were covered in both old and new wounds all over their bodies at the time of confiscation, they do not trust dogs they do not know. Though they had been separated for several months, when they saw each other there was no needed intro. They obviously knew and remembered each other and we suspect they may have been litter mates. once together again they have been inseparable and it is clear that should spend the rest of their lives together.

Their confidence has increased substantially and they have learned not everyone is out to get them. They love their people and are good with kids. With proper intros they are good with other dogs and they can live with cats too.

They are crate trained and are working on their house manners and basic obedience. They would need to find a home with a fenced yard to keep them safe. They would be ideal for a home that would allow them to be homebodies, as they do not do well in busy environments. They are moderate energy and are happy to just romp in their own safe yard and lounge on their own couch.

Adoption fee is 275.00 for both, they are fully vetted. Local Saint Louis metro area adoption only. steppingstonebully.org
