My name is Ida Mae and I am a 2 1/2 year old female Lab mix. I came into a shelter with a broken back and no one has any idea how it happened either. I didn't have a chance at the shelter so I came to rescue and went to my foster home. With all the love and care, I have completely healed and I require no further treatments. I am a small girl weighing only 35lbs and I am a young girl. I get along great with children but I will be placed in an adult home or with a family with adult children. Sadly with my back I can not have youngsters crawling or climbing on me. I also get along with other dogs but again I would like to be the only furbaby in the home, I can not really rough house with another dog esp my size or larger but maybe if your furbaby is very low keyed and small there may be a possibility. I really should "not" have a lot of stairs to tackle, no stairs would be ideal but we know many homes have stairs, we will ask the vet to see how many I can handle on a daily basis.
I would love to be the tennis ball/frisbee pup but sadly I can not do those things anymore so I will settle for those nice long walks and even stopping to look at the wildlife, almost like I am pointing.. or even trotting around my yard instead, as long as I have a family I will be happy.
I am crate trained but I still need to be watched with housebreaking and with a little more time, love and training I will be the diamond I am destined to be.
I just love to be loved and love to love back, if you pet me I will be a velcro dog and never leave your side. I am looking for my furever home do you know where it is?
