My story

Here's what the humans have to say about me:

Our beautiful Mastino, Piovere, or "Pio", as we fondly call him, has quite the story for his young life. We saw a post on Facebook asking for help for a pair of Neopolitan Mastiff pups. We were in a position to help, and found ourselves driving through the rain to St. Louis, MO to pick up the two. Piovere, in Italian, means rain, so that's how Pio got his name. We were shocked when we pulled in to the gas station to meet the transporter and see the condition of these dogs. Covered in ticks and skin and bones, we were shocked. We left St. Louis and drove six hours back straight to our vets office. Pio and his sister were slowly being starved to death, being fed ONCE A WEEK! They were so weak they could not sustain standing for long periods of time. We ended up transferring them to another one of our vets for continued medical care while being boarded. Since mid-June, we have worked diligently to put weight on Pio and feel he is now ready to find his forever home. He is a wonderful Mastino who is dog friendly, obedience trained, and is a lovely companion.
