I found a new home!
Plenty of my friends are looking
for one too. Find a pet to adopt.

Oreo's Info...

I am already spayed, in need of an experienced adopter, and up to date with shots.

Oreo's Story...
Oreo came to CRT from the shelter as a stray. The shelter estimated her age at 6 but she

acts much younger.

Oreo absolutely loves to romp and play with her foster brothers. Her other favorite

activity is to play fetch with a rubber chicken she discovered one day in the toy box. She

is happiest when playing. She gets along great with other dogs and plays with all of them

that will participate. We have one cat here which she doesn’t pay any attention too. Her

antics and playfulness are entertaining and quite comical.

Oreo is crate trained but currently we utilize the exercise pen to aid her with pee pad

training. When focused, Oreo will use the house pee pad location. She does need a little

more training on focus and location.

We are still working on her leash training but she prefers to stay indoors 24/7. This

makes her a good candidate for apartment dwelling where dogs do not always have

outdoor access. Oreo will need a harness or slip lead while outside. She has a strong

instinct to go back indoors where she feels safest.

Oreo is looking for someone to love her, with patience and a willingness to give her time

to learn trust.

We ask that Oreo to be in a home without young children.

She prefers to be alone when eating and is presently food guarded.

She would be a great companion for another dog, especially if playful.

A securely fenced yard would be preferred.

We do not recommend that any of our Chihuahuas be placed in homes with young children or large dogs.

Why Adoption is a Great Option

Oreo, a Dayton Chihuahua dog was adopted! Here's how you can benefit by looking at adoption as an option to buying a Chihuahua for sale in Dayton, or seeking a Chihuahua dog from a breeder in Dayton.

  1. Rescues and shelter volunteers in Dayton already know the personality and tendencies of their pets. This means they can match you with the right pet. That will makes it much easier transition to owning a pet for yourself and your new pet.
  2. On average adoption fees are much less than you'd pay a Dayton breeder, or pet store. Plus most often rescue pets have already been to the veterinarian for a check-up, had a round of vaccinations, and are spayed or neutered. That is a lot of savings!
  3. You will become a hero, and give a needy dog or cat a loving home. In fact, there are even Chihuahua breeders who help with Chihuahua rescue. One puppy or kitten adopted in Dayton paves the way for another one to be saved.
