My story

Here's what the humans have to say about me:

Poor Roxy spent almost her whole life living in isolation in a kennel behind a vacant house. The story is that the owner left her there and neighbors have been feeding her. No walks, no petting, a kennel that was full of feces... just a very sad and lonely existence.

Since her rescue Roxy has been professionally trained by Off Leash K9 Trainers out of Charlotte. She knows her basic commands and heels off leash. The trainer said she was a very smart girl and leans quickly. There is probably no limit to what she can be trained to do.

Roxy loves people of all ages and is very adaptable. She loves to play ball and take walks and car rides. She can be your best walking or jogging buddy but also a couch cuddler! She is not a needy dog at all. She is very comfortable in her own furry skin!!

She learned to retrieve a ball and drop it at your feet in 5 minutes. She is perfectly housebroken and does not chew. She has so many good assets for a rescue: quiet, not destructive in the house, loves to take walks, likes to ride in the car, crate trained, and did I say “ Completely house broken”? She is generally very quiet and does not bark a lot.

Roxy is a 3 yr old brindle lab/boxer mix who weighs around 50lbs. Since she spent so many years of her early life alone we know she will be best as an only dog. She does not know her own strength when she plays with other dogs since she obviously was not taught by her mother dog how to play properly. She just enjoys being with people. She has also been treated for heart worms, intestinal worms and is on heart worm and flea and tick preventative. She has been spayed and is up to date on all vaccinations.

She would be fine being an indoor/outdoor dog as long as she never had to endure the 10 degree or 95 degree temperatures outside ever again.
