Here's what the humans have to say about me:
Zeus has had a challenging life from the start. "Rescued" from people who were starving him, he was made to live in a crate on the back porch in Iowa in the winter. When I became involved, he was chained to a tree in a backyard, eating Old Roy, and had no shelter. It was fall, and winter was coming on fast.
Zeus is now living in my laundry room. This is not a suitable foster home, but it s significant step up from where he began. He has constant shelter, nutritious food, and does not live on a chain. However, I have no extra time to do more than take him in and out. He is desperately lonely and bored beyond imagining.
Despite having little stimulation, he is not destructive, and he was house trained with a single voice correction. With the mind of a Husky, he is extremely intelligent. He wants to please, and he is highly food motivated, so training (with effort) is relatively easy.
He likes to play "keep away" and tug, and he fancies himself to be a lap dog, with no qualms about parking on your lap for some serious hugging. Zeus is a howler, having learned from the coyotes surrounding him in the woods on the property where he was chained, but he is generally quite.
Zeus has not demonstrated any aggression and should be good with other balanced dogs if introduced properly. I believe the same will be true of cats. He has a low prey drive.
He is going to be a terrific companion for the right person or family.
