Meet Franklin!
Franklin might be your man if you are looking for a smart little companion and, come on, who could resist that smile!! This handsome, brindle boy is 4 years old, and weighs in at around 15 lbs. Franklin is a bit timid at first, but once he warms up, he is quite affectionate, warming up to women a little quicker than men. He loves being with his people! Dogs are okay too, but he has not been around cats.
Franklin needs a home with adults only, you see he ended up in our care after having issues with a baby, so homes with young children will not be considered and homes with frequent child visitors need not apply. Dog savvy teens may be considered – tell us about their dog experience in your application. A laid-back home with someone who will be home most of the day and who can take him for car rides often – a favorite pastime, would be ideal. He also loves going for walks, (gets a little excited on the leash), stopping off at the dog park, snuggling up on the couch, or just laying at your feet.
Franklin has great manners – he can sit, shake, and kiss on command. He is crate and potty trained, though he has a few accidents from time to time, so good bathroom behaviors will need to be reinforced. A home with a dog door would likely eliminate any accidents; he had a dog door in his previous home and does not now.
Franklin is up to date on shots, microchipped, neutered, and in good health! He is having a dental cleaning soon. He has a few allergies that make his eyes water and paws itch from time to time, so interested families must take this into consideration and be able to provide him with a high quality diet, supplements, and medication as needed.
