My story

Here's what the humans have to say about me:

Pixie is a playful tan and white adult female Shih Tzu Pomeranian mix. She weighs 6 pounds and her date of birth is 12/01/2009. Pixie arrived here in September 2014, she was picked up as a stray but we were able to trace down several of her owner(s) through her microchip. The original owner gave her away, and that person eventually gave her away, and that person also gave her away, etc. during all these handoff’s she traveled pretty much all over the country. No one wanted her back. We know a little history, her name and her birthday. Pixie does not allow strangers to pick her up, she is hand shy until she gets to know and trust you and she does not like her face touched. We have been working with her for a year now and her people skills have improved tremendously. Extroverted, intelligent, spirited, and bold, she can be protective and busy without being hyperactive. Games, short walks, and regular playtime are sufficient to keep her physically and mentally stimulated. When outdoors, it is important to keep her on a leash and away from larger dogs; as she thinks she is much bigger than she really is. Pixie loves people, toys (especially soft squeaky ones) and being IN CHARGE!! If you have ever had the pleasure of being owned by a Pomeranian with a personality as out of this world as Pixie’s, then you know what fun this darling pet will bring to your home. Pixie is housetrained, but will need assistance readjusting to a normal household and schedule. She is well worth the time and patience it will take to gain her trust and provide her with the warmth of a loving home, a very special forever family that will love and care for her for the rest of her life. Pixie is spayed, has a microchip, is current on all vaccines, heartworm and flea/tick preventative, and has had a complete physical and dental. The adoption fee for Pixie is $200.00.
