My story

Here's what the humans have to say about me:

We realize that people are looking for a predominant breed or breed mixture, but visual breed identification in dogs is unreliable so for most of our dogs we are only guessing at the predominant breed or breed mix. We encourage you to select your new companion by considering each dog's individual personality and pet qualities instead of relying on a breed label that is only a guess.

Knight is a strapping young lad who is excited about life! He aims to please and is very loyal! Knight came to us initially as a very young pup and was adopted out, however, he ended up coming back to rescue recently due to no fault of his own.

Knight is very active and loves to go running, hiking, walking, dog park playing, and more! He's always up for the activities and different challenges you present to him. Not only is he active, he's also super smart and excels at obedience, agility, and other brain games and challenges! Despite his higher energy level, Knight is remarkable calm and well behaved inside the home. He is very content to lay by your feet, sleep on his dog bed, or better yet cuddle on the couch (if you let him!). He knows the majority of his basic commands including come, sit, down, off (get off furniture, etc.), move (get out from by your feet), and he's working on a few tricks too (shake, and agility commands).
Knight does well with other dogs, both larger and smaller than him. He loves to visit and play at the dog park, as well as meet and greet other dogs out on his walks. He is also around cats and has no issues with them at all. He'll even sleep next to them sometimes! Knight has been around children of all ages and seems to do okay with them - he is not around them on a regular basis though. He sometimes will mouth your hands as you're playing or walking, but he's not being nippy or mean, he's just trying to get your attention. His foster home has been working on this with him, however, because of this he may be better suited with the older children who understand this behavior. He has improved since coming back to rescue, but again, he sometimes forgets.

Knight is kennel trained, but he prefers not to if he doesn't have to. He is house trained and will let you know when he needs to go outside. The only time he is currently kenneled at his foster home is when everyone is gone. He sleeps next to the bed over night.

Knight would love to find that active family who will continue to challenge him physically and mentally. He's an amazing boy and can't wait to show off all his moves to you!

Knight is approximately 1 year old and weighs about 25-30 pounds and stands just a little bit above your knees. He's very petite and compact in size. Knight has been vet checked, started on his vaccinations, heartworm tested negative, microchipped, neutered, and started on his flea/tick/heartworm preventatives. He originally arrived in rescue December 2014, was adopted out and returned the end of August 2015.
