My story

Here's what the humans have to say about me:

New Updated Bio 2-28/28. Sweet, adorable, little Maggie is back with UYR. She is only 8 years old and 6.5 pounds. Maggie is being fostered in Leesburg, FL. Maggie's adoption fee is $325 and includes all vetting (neuter, dental cleaning, immunizations, microchip and chip registration). A Vet reference, personal references, and home visit are required for adoption. You may apply to adopt Maggie by going to our website at www.unitedyorkierescue.org and completing the adoption application located on our home page.

No only can deny that Maggie is just the cutest little pup ever. She was very sadly surrender back to us because her owner suddenly took very ill, and Maggie was not getting the attention she needed while the family needed to care for their ill member full time. So with many tears Maggie was surrender back to United Yorkie Rescue.

Maggie is totally up to date on everything. She is house trained, though she is just learning how to ask to go out in her new foster home. She eats well, sleeps all night in her crate, though would rather be on the bed if you let her, walks nicely on a leash, and does great in the car. Who could ask for more?

Maggie does not like big dogs. However, she is so far doing fine with the other small dogs in her foster home. She has not played with them, or even played much, while she takes her time to adjust to her new home and surrounding, but she does seem to really like the fenced backyard.

Maggie is looking for her final forever home. Her next stop has to be her last until her final days. She needs someone to be with her a lot of the day to reassure her, love her, and care for her. She was very well taken care of and loved in her former home and she needs that again. Maggie can go to a home with children over the age of 10, though we haven't yet found her to be a playmate to anyone, just a sweet cuddle bug.

If you feel you are ready to give Maggie her final forever home, please fill out an adoption application for her.

Updated bio 12-2-15 Maggie is an adorable, 3 year old, wonderful little girl. She is 6.5 pounds. Maggie is being fostered in Leesburg, FL.

Maggie has received the medical care she needed and is now on the upswing. She had an attack of pancreatitis, which has healed nicely. She is on a special GI diet and eating great. She must have eaten something that brought on the attack, but now with good food and good medical care she is healed.

It was also discovered that Maggie has some isospore parasites. She is on medication for that and in two weeks, after she is cleared, she will be ready for adoption.

Although Maggie has been in her new foster home for just a short time her foster parents have learned a few things about her. Maggie seems to be a quiet, timid little girl. She definitely would rather be with her people than with other dogs. She would not do well in a home with children. She would prefer a nice quiet home with people home a lot to love her and cuddle with her. She can sit on her people’s lap for as long as they will let her.

Maggie will sleep in her doggie bed, though she would prefer to sleep with her people. She walks nicely on a leash, and is now a good eater. She seems to be house trained. She has not had a single accident in the house since she arrived on Saturday.

Maggie would be the perfect baby for someone who can give her lots of attention and time. She is only three years old so she would like a family who will be there for her for at least another 10-12 years. She has been in 4 different homes in less than a month (her original home with 24 other dogs, her first foster home, the home of the adopter who returned her when she got sick, and now her new foster home) therefore it is very important to Maggie’s foster parents that Maggie’s next home be truly her final and forever home.

If you are that person who can give Maggie her final forever home and would love to have this sweet girl as your own, please fill out an adoption application for her.
