Gordon is a special little bundle of charm. He is about 7 or 8 years old and 10 pounds. He was recently found stray and ended up at the kill shelter... no place for a little guy like this. Gordon is missing an eye but gets around fine for the most part, just bumps into things once in a while. He's an extremely sweet and low energy boy, loves to go on gentle walks and curl up next to you on a bench or cuddle on the couch at home. He's very good with other dogs and cats, and he can be a little shy at first with people he doesn't know but he warms up almost immediately. His foster mom says: "He can be a little slow to warm up, but once you have Gordon's love, he loves you forever and in the sweetest way. He can be a little uncertain of new people in his life, but in a matter of minutes he can go from strangers to your absolute best new friend. In the time I've gotten to know him, he has gained so much confidence in meeting new people and being in new situations. That progress will continue, I'd expect, with more time of stability, routine, and most importantly, a loving person or people in his life to keep him forever and help him to feel safe. Being a little further on in years, he has some physical challenges - his ears and his eyesight are not perfect, so he can be prone to bumping into things or getting easily startled. However, his age doesn't make him any less enthusiastic for his walks-he loves to go on long or short walks, and loves even running part of the way! He's not much of a toy guy, but he does get into playful moods sometimes when his people come home from work - once he's finally got you to sit with him on the couch, he lays on his back like he wants a tummy rub but then bats your hands with all four paws and wriggles around. So cute! One of the cutest things he does is when he's REALLY excited, like before a walk, he will sometimes jump straight up in the air out of joy! By far, Gordon's greatest passion is snuggling with his people, and he is a pro snuggler! His perfect evening would involve cuddling under a blanket next to you while you watch a movie, after dinner and a walk. Low-key is definitely his preferred speed. This little guy has so much to offer and will love you unconditionally and forever if you give him the opportunity. He deserves the happiest second chapter of his little life!"
