My story

Here's what the humans have to say about me:

This dog's fosterhome is located in: ****Garland, Texas****Howdy from Texas! My name is Baxter, aren't I a handsome guy?  I got lost and was a stray when the shelter people found me.  My left elbow had been broken recently and not set properly, so it is a little cattywampus, but I get along just fine!  Doc says in time I'll be all healed though I may have a limp.  But, let me tell you, it sure doesn't hold me down right now.  I'm a blue merle which makes me very unique.  I'm close to a year old, long-legged, and a svelte 10 lbs but expect to be more when I am fully grown and well.  I’m very clever and learned to use the doggy door all on my own.  I also figured out a way to use a stool to get up to mom's bed where I spend the night curled up next to her.  It gets a little cozy with us three dogs and mom, too.  I'm not much on crates....they have those at the shelter and I was very glad to be rescued from them.  I can play by myself or with my housemates.  I mind pretty well and come when called -- especially if it is breakfast or dinnertime.  I think it's great fun to watch the squirrels in the backyard and bark at them or maybe just talk a little.  I have quite the vocabulary.  I would really love to have a home and family of my own.
