My story

Here's what the humans have to say about me:

Sophie is fostered near Madison Wisconsin, 53597 through United Yorkie Rescue http://www.unitedyorkierescue.org. To get more information on Sophie, contact her foster mamma at: mschristinedwyer@gmail.com
Sophie's a 9yr old sweetheart who came to United Yorkie in December 2015 when her family made the difficult decision to give her a better life by surrendering her to UYR, after experiencing health challenges in the family, and with Sophie.
Sophie’s had 9 homes in her 9 years, and needs a committed stable environment where she's not competing for time and attention and will be guaranteed a forever home. Her prior owners took her not knowing much about her, only that she’d been passed around 8 times in her short 4 years of life. Sophie’s adjusting to home #10 with her foster family, who loves her to death.
Sophie lived with children and other animals the last 5 years, and does fine with them as long as they are respectful of her small 8lbs. However, a home without children would be ideal for her, preferably an older person or couple who are eager to make up for her years of moving around. She’s a princess deserving of a place to lay her head forever without worry. She’s a fairly quiet gal, but likes treats and will make little noises when asking you to share something yummy you may have.
Sophie walks well on a leash, loves exploring, and she loves snuggling up on the couch for a nap. She enjoys car rides, sitting on your lap looking out as the world.
Sophie has skin issues she'll receive treatment for, she does appear to have an allergy or something that may require a special diet; we’ll know more hopefully as we work with her over the coming weeks. This has prevented her from getting her vaccine boosters, so we'll be catching her up and making sure fully up to date on her shots before she goes to her forever home.
Sophie needs work with house training; she’s either regressed with her move into foster care or has had some challenges with training, it will be very important for her to have an understanding and patient family, who won’t mind accidents and will help her get the hang of potty acceptable activity in her new home. She may need help with doggy diapers or wraps for a while during her transition, to prevent accidents. They’re a low maintenance easy accessory while training, and many of the fosters where them, as so many homemade varieties are now available on the Internet for order, requiring only placement of a woman’s feminine product in the wrap, to catch any accident that may occur. We love them!
