My story

Here's what the humans have to say about me:

You can fill out an adoption application online on our official website.

Annabelle was found running the streets with her mother and caught by the local animal control officer.  Her mother went home with one of the employees and Annabelle came to live in foster care here in Phoenix, Arizona.  Most likely, Annabelle's mom was abandoned before her human owners knew she was pregnant.  So...Annabelle did not really know people, or houses, or any of the other things we take for granted.  For all of that, she has been nothing but a total sweetheart that loves to play with other dogs.  She is learning potty training quickly and she behaves perfectly in her crate.  We keep trying to work on leash training but the other dogs in the house like to pull her around by the leash, so some one on one is needed.  She is still a young pup, so playing with toys and other dogs are her favorite things to do.  She also puts up with being disciplined by the older dogs in the house- but like any baby, she cries.  She loves to sleep in the bed with her foster mom and the other animals, but is also OK sleeping on one of the dog beds in the bedroom.  She is not particularly destructive in the house (she does love to shred paper) and is good with cats—she even tries to play with them.   Lovely Annabelle still needs to learn confidence.  Sometimes it is still hard to pick her up, she is a little frightened by that, and she is not sure she can trust strangers—but she stays sweet about it.  However, she is getting better all the time, and her foster mom feels that lots of cuddling, treats, ear rubbing, and one on one outings will be the perfect way for her forever human to achieve that.  Annabelle would probably do best in a household without young children, but cats, and dogs, and older children would be wonderful.
