My story

Here's what the humans have to say about me:

Initial Bio 1/3/2015 Brody is a cute Yorkie boy who is 6 years old, weighs 4 pounds and is being fostered in Beechgrove TN.

Meet Brody, our newest United Yorkie Rescue boy crush! Brody came from a home where he was much loved. A few months ago Brody’s owner was in an accident which rendered her permanently disabled and no longer capable of caring for him. Her daughter took Brody in, but she had a senior dog of her own that was much larger and who did not get along with Brody. This created a lot of stress for both dogs and their human so after much consideration it was determined that the best solution for all concerned was to get help finding Brody a new perfect forever home.

Brody has been well cared for but does need to be neutered and have his teeth cleaned. He already has a microchip, so once he has his medical needs met he will be ready for adoption. Due to his tiny size and the fact that his former owner says Brody is afraid of children, Brody must go to an “adults only” home. He would do fine with another small dog but would also be happy as an only dog provided his human spends a lot of time with him. He does have separation anxiety and does not like to be left alone. His preference would to be carried around and stick to his human like glue AT ALL TIMES!

Brody is a pretty mellow boy. He is not very interested in toys and is pretty happy just sitting in your lap and getting belly rubs. He does give kisses and will stand on his hind legs for attention. That usually means “PLEASE PICK ME UP!”. Brody rides well in the car and also does well on a leash. He loves to go places and is always ready for a car ride. He also prefers to sleep in bed with his human and does not like to be crated. His former owner said he is housebroken but also stated that he “marks” too. He is not neutered so we hope that once this is done it will help Brody with his potty manners. In the meantime, we are managing the “marking” behavior by wearing a belly band.

Brody has just landed in his foster home so stay tuned as we get to know him better.
