AGE: 1 year old BREED: Terrier mix DOG TRAINING: A must and will only be adopted to a family who agrees to training and signs up with one if certified dog trainers on our rescues list. SECURE FENCED YARD IS A MUST! A fully fenced yard is required as he loves to run around, and he is quite small so he can indeed pull himself through any gaps if curiosity gets the best of him. CATS: He is perfectly happy with gentle cats who are used to dogs. OTHER DOGS: Yes small breed dogs ONLY. NO LARGER BREED DOGS. CHILDREN: Older Children only. 7 and up. Children don’t bother him as long as they are gentle and respectful. HOUSE TRAINED - House Trained but please note a change in environment a house trained dog can have accidents until they get to know your routine. Baxter requires a stable home environment that means a stay home person or someone who works from home in the family. He has lots of energy so is best suited to active families. If you travel alot for work or take lots of vacations Baxter is not a good fit. Baxter bonds to his guardians and requires a stable home without tons of people coming and going. VETTING COMPLETED: NEUTERED, VACCINATED WITH DHPP vaccine Rabies vaccine Bordetella Vaccine Dewormed X2 Revolution for Ticks MICROCHIPPED - (EIDAP) HEARTWORM TESTED - NEGATIVE PRO - Heart 6 injection - Protects against Heartworm - preventive injection. ADOPTION FEE: $450.00 Baxter is a 1 year old terrier cross, with the personality to suit! He loves to play fetch with a person, tug of war with dogs, and he will happily run around with toys by himself as well. Children don’t bother him as long as they are gentle and respectful. Please keep in mind he is a terrier, and as such does bark (although he does not bark at noises, he is protective and will bark when he can see people or animals outside the house). Baxter loves to cuddle, so if you are sitting or lying down be prepared- he is a good jumper and loves to be close to his people! He will tolerate bathing and brushing, which is a good thing as he needs regular brushing because of his fine coat. We are not a shelter we are a foster home placement rescue and we place our rescues in foster care until a permanent forever family is matched. We hold meet and greets at Pet store locations and we DO NOT adopt out on site at our events.
