Ashley is a 2-year-old and 55-pound blue girl that came to us from a shelter in the south. She was originally found as a stray. She is a real sweetheart, very affectionate, happy-go-lucky kind of girl, and does the typical Dober-lean when you are petting her. If you are looking for a girl that loves to cuddle, Ashley is for you. She will even sit on your lap if you let her. She loves being around her human, the typical ‘velco’ Dobe, and will follow you every where, even to the bathroom! She is very eagar to please, very smart and is very treat oriented, so training will be a breeze. She does need to learn some manners, typical of a young dobe that hasn’t had any formal training, so an obedience class will be required. She rides great in the car, tethered of course otherwise she would probably try to sit on your lap. She is good with other dogs, both big and small, but will require a slow introduction to ensure success with a dog companion. She perfers to eat alone, without other dogs around, also typical of a stray as they feel another dog may want to take their food. However, she was fine with her foster mom handling her food while she ate. Ashley is on the thin side right now and needs to gain about 10 pounds, but staying on a healthy diet will fix that up in no time. She has a beautiful blue coat, and eyes that will steal your heart when you look into them. She is fine with kids, but she might run over a small child trying to get where she wants to go, so it is recommended that she be place with children over 10.
