This litter of kittens Carob, Cinnamon, Nutmeg and Ginger were born in a derelict house. They had no human contact until Sunshine Rescue Group took their mom and the kittens into rescue when they were around 4 months old. The mom was very sociable and friendly and soon found a home. Because her kittens were never exposed to people we have been working with them diligently so they can learn to understand the loving touch and care that people can offer. They have been in foster care over two months and have come a long way, learning to trust people and enjoy being petted, played with and loved.
Nutmeg is a happy girl who loves to run and play and explore, she has gone off to explore her foster home outside the kitten room on several occasions! She is not as food motivated as her siblings and she is the only one that is short haired. Nutmeg enjoys playing the dangly toy games and likes all other cats. She will most likely be shy when she first comes into her new home and it might take some time for her to gain confidence and be off exploring.
Nutmeg is approximately 13 months old. She is considered a "torbie" which is a tortoiseshell/tabby mixture. She and her sister Ginger have been moved into the adoption center at Petsmart in San Leandro. They are adjusting to their new environment and would love to go on a sleepover together soon.
